Men are objectified too
Feminists are constantly complaining about the fact that so much advertising today “objectifies” women and demeans them.
But I don’t think I have ever seen an advertisement that objectifies women anywhere near as much as the Paco Rabanne advertisement for its Pure XS men’s fragrance objectifies males.
In the advert, a writhing group of women collapse in a heap after watching a young man strip out of his clothes whilst he is running a bath.
I am not aware that there have been any cries of outrage over it. But then there wouldn’t be, would there?
This appears to be a fine example of double standards. Robert Readman, Bournemouth
