Room matchmaker to expand

-

SPANISH room rental group Badi.com wants to expand across the UK, global managing director Carol Jiang says.

She said the online flatmate and room-finder service, which launched in London in the summer, has more than one million users in Spain and is looking to replicate its success in the UK and rest of Europe: “We definitely want to expand further into the UK, we are evaluating which cities will be the best fit for us. London is used to flat-sharing. It is the perfect fit. We launched into Paris and Rome this year and in 2019 we plan to dominate Europe.”

In February Badi raised £7.8million from venture capital groups, led by Spark Capital, to finance its expansion.

Badi uses artificial intelligence and a Tinder-style swipe system to match people renting out rooms with those looking for somewhere to live.
