Refugee held over terror plot
AN IRANIAN refugee has been charged with plotting a Christmas terror attack in the UK. Fatah Mohammed Abdullah, 33, appeared in court accused of buying a knife, chemicals, fuses and a balacava, yesterday.
Westminster magistrates heard Abdullah, from Arthur’s Hill in Newcastle, came to the UK from Iran in 2005 and was granted leave to remain in 2010.
He was arrested on Tuesday in an operation by hundreds of officers that was an intelligenceled part of their ongoing investigation.
He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on January 14.
