With regard to the criticism of the Remain faction (“Politicians have failed UK”, December 9), I was reminded that, when the Bourbon dynasty was returned to France following the defeat of Napoleon, its members were accused of having “learnt nothing and forgotten nothing”, a description that seems all too relevant today.
Now that I think of it, it wasn’t too long before the Bourbons were being turned out of power again, this time permanently.
