Run HS2 off the rails

Nick Ferrari quotes the HS2 project as “struggling” (December 9).

If this is the case then it, and the taxpayers, should be put out of our combined misery, and it should be buffered.

No doubt compensation will have to be paid to contractors, money well spent if it saves further unnecessary drain on the taxpayer, and, just as important, the destruction of the countryside and loss of people’s homes. Norman Rendle, Cardiff
