Signing United need the most
EVERY football manager in history has wanted more money to spend on new players in the transfer market. It comes with the territory.
Jose Mourinho has been insistent that Manchester United buy a new central defender and widespread speculation is that the club are contemplating a £100million move for Napoli player Kalidou Koulibaly in the winter window.
The defender, who has been so impressive in Serie A, would probably improve the team but are the United powerbrokers really willing to spend such a vast amount when recent Mourinho buys like Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez and Fred have such question marks hanging over them?
When I speak to United supporters, the introduction they want most is a new manager – one who exudes joy rather than gloom, one with an attacking football style, one who creates dressing room harmony rather than endless friction.
