National heroes enlisted to find new champion

TheT opticians have enlisted the help of storytellingsto company Macastory to act out famousfam events in Scotland’s history in shoppingsho centres up and down the country.
SpecsaversS hope the theatre group’s comicalcom sketches and songs will encourage the public to vote for their local heroes – the people making a difference in their communities.com
TheT roadshow, which will include skits about everyoneeve from leaders William Wallace and BonnieBon Prince Charlie to sport stars Andy MurrayMu and Denis Law, kicks off next month. Macastory’s Ron Fairweather, 60, of Edinburgh, said: “Storytelling is a great way of bringing history to life and reminding people about amazing events that shaped our past.
“Scotland is lucky to have dozens of heroes and we will bring these men and women to life through drama and song. From Rabbie Burns to Andy Murray, they have all made their mark on history.
“We hope the roadshow will inspire people to think about who the great Scots in their lives are – the drugs workers, foster carers and volunteers hidden away in their communities doing fantastic work.
“Bring the whole family down to see us and then go home and nominate your community champion. It’s going to be lots of fun.”
