TV star Strictly’s bubble trouble
Strictly star Georgia May Foote has spoken of the huge pressure the reality show heaps on the personal lives of its celebrity contestants.
The former Corrie actress and her partner Giovanni Pernice were runners-up in last year’s contest and set tongues wagging with their sizzling chemistry on the dancefloor.
Georgia later found love with the Italian dancer after breaking up with Corrie co- star Sean Ward in the latest episode of what has become known as “The Strictly curse”.
The spl it came amid claims Sean, 27, had been abusive towards Georgia in the hours after the show’s final last December.
The actress has refused to speak publicly about the reasons for the split – but has now told how being in the Strictly bubble left little time for those closest to her whi le she was spending days on end with Giovanni.
Most couples rehearse for seven hours a day on top of filming – and Georgia, 25, became the latest in a long line of celebrities whose romances have fallen apart during the show.
But she said: “Strictly was absolutely great and I’ll be f o re ver g rat ef u l for everything it did for me.”
In September, she will star in the UK tour of Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
She is also the face of a new campaign for BT in which she has recreated classic phone shots from a series of films to promote a new range of handsets.
