Cowell in a fury at X Factor gambles

-

Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh are in the X Factor doghouse after picking novelty acts for the live shows.

Then pair felt the full fury of boss Simon Cowell after putting through rapper Honey G and duo Ottavio and Bradley.

Simon called the judges, who he brought back in a bid to boost ratings, and raged: “What are you doing?”

Sharon said: “I told him, ‘ Don’t fight me yet. I have not even started – please?”

Louis added: “I said, ‘Of course I know what I’m doing.’ I don’t care about Simon. I’m hired. They are my choices and I do what I want. It’s a bit of a risk, but what the hell.”

Louis even turned the tables on Simon, saying he was the one who would make viewers switch off the live shows.

He blasted his old friend for not making Scottish student Caitlyn Vanbeck, 18, one of his final three in the girls category.

Louis, 64, said: “I thought she was a definite. I’d have absolutely put her through.”

And Sharon, 63, stuck by her decision to put Honey G, real name Anna Georgette Gil ford, in her overs category.

She said: “People forget we are making a TV show as well as looking for talent. The thing is, Honey G is entertaining. It’s not up to me whether she wins – it’s down to the public.”

Last night, the hopefuls performed live at Wembley’s Fountain Studios for the first time. Tonight sees the first of the acts booted off.
