“One minute I was watching her on TV, then the nextn minute there she was in one of my designs.
“Jem Lucy, from Ex On The Beach, wore another of mmy designs when the cast of the show were getting ttheir photos taken for MTV’s campaign to promote tthe programme.
“One of my friends got in touch recently to say she wwas in a cafe in Australia and had opened a magazine aand there was one of my designs.
“I know the stylist for Little Mix, Alexis Knox, is a ffan but I don’t know if the girls hhave worn any of my clothes.
“My designs have been fefeatured in several magazines aand I’ve had orders f rom ccountries all over the world.”
Kirsty says living in Falkirk iis no barrier to designing sswim and festival wear.
She said: “I might not live by the beach but I really love the beach and festival-wear vibe.
“My des igns a re rea l statement pieces – in the fabulous, crazy colours people like to wear on holiday.
“The whole range is bright, fufun and cheeky and is definitely designed for people whwho like to express their personality through the cloclothes they wear.”
Kirsty has launched a range of bright mobile phone cocovers in the same style as her swimwear.
She has also designed a range of T-shirts and sweatshirtssw for women and men.
She said: “At the moment, I’m still a very small companyco – I design and make all the clothes myself andan the only help I get is from my mum, who irons anythingan that needs ironed before packaging.
“But I like the way the company is growing organically.or I’ve been invited to take part in a pop-uppo shop at Topshop in London’s Oxford Street nextne spring.
“My designs are on sale in places such as the onlineon site ASOS and, in a few weeks’ time, they are to be featured in a shoot taking place in New York’s TimeTi Square.”
Later this month, Kirsty will attend the Scottish FashionFa Awards after being nominated in the Young Designer of the Year category.
She said: “I’m just so thrilled. Everything that is happening feels like a wonderful dream.”
