Buck ie Thist le did a derby demolition job on Deveronval­e with the 9-2 victory showing they are serious title contenders.

The surprise leaders stayed f ive points clear thanks to their stunning show of attacking firepower in Banff.

John McLeod continued his scoring run with the breakthrou­gh goal after 31 minutes. Andy Low grabbed the second six minutes later and the home side looked down and out three minutes before the break when player-assistant boss Lewis MacKinnon netted.

Stuart Taylor’s finish and MacKinnon’s second made it 5- 0 after 52 minutes.

Vale hit back through Paul Sutherland and Graeme Watt. But the Buckie blitz resumed with Low hitting his second, Lewis Dunbar turning the ball past his own keeper and McLeod netting his second of the day to take his season’s tally to 23.

Brora Rangers hit Keith for six with former Ross County striker Steven Ross scoring four goals on his debut. Colin Williamson and Zander Sutherland were also on target for Grant Munro’s side.

Defending champs Cove Rangers won 3- 0 at Forres, with Mitch Megginson netting a second-half double.

Fort William enjoyed a rare home win as they edged past Turriff United 3-2.

Glen Fell, Scott Davidson and Iain Foggo scored for Fort with Cammy Bowden netting twice for Turriff.

Paul Campbell’s late goal earned Fraserburg­h a 1- 0 win at Wick Academy.
