Politicians hop on board to join party
There was a political party on the Young Scot tour bus last week as First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, Conservative Ruth Davidson, Labour’s Kezia Dugdale and Patrick Harvie, of the Greens, hopped on board to lend their support.
The leaders, who were joined by two dozen MSPs, chatted to past winners and a nominee and took selfies when the coach pulled into Holyrood on the second stop of its cross-country tour.
Sturgeon said she was looking forward to hearing about this year’s finalists and winners.
The bus tour, in association with Scottish Citylink, continues this week with a pitstop on Tuesday at the City of Glasgow College and Clyde Auditorium. STV presenters David Farrell, Laura Boyd and Jennifer Reoch will be getting to grips with ICW wrestlers Grado, Jack Jester and Davey Blaze when the coach arrives at the Armadillo.
Nominations close at midday on February 27 so we hope our readers will visit the bus and nominate their young heroes.
Robert Andrew, managing director of Scottish Citylink, said: “We’re delighted to be on board with the Young Scots.”
Louise Macdonald, chief executive of Young Scot, said: “We are so excited to hear the inspirational stories of Scotland’s young people.”
