“The next thing I knew someone was trying to grab my bag. I held on to it and put up a fight but he smashed me on the side of the head and made off.”

The police were called and Liz went to hospital. She said: “I was foaming at the mouth and very agitated. It was so scary.

“We never found out what the drug was but my mouth and lips were burned and I couldn’t eat. I also lost teeth.”

She got home three days later after forking out for new flights Annette Muir is blooming mad after a gardening firm failed to deliver plants she ordered.

She said: “At every stage they told me they were proceeding with the refund of my expenses.”

Then, last week, they dealt the devastating blow. She said: “I Junction, Lanarkshire, said: “I am angry at being treated like this.”

She ordered camellia bushes, carnations and other shrubs, paying £ 52 by debit card online on June 3.

“Delivery was to be three to f ive days or up to 15 at busy periods. So I waited 24 and decided to contact them, which proved impossible.”

That’s when she alerted me. She said: “It seems people have been getting the same automated message since January. Please help.”

Gardening Express did not respond.

But the good news is that Annette’s bank, RBS, are now investigating on her behalf.
