New lease of Fife
Darren Young hailed his Fifers after a dogged display earned their first league win of the season.
A Greg Hurst effort in the second half separated the sides and the Bayview gaffer was able to take plenty of positives.
He said: “It’s great to get that monkey off your back and get the three points and first win. We also had a clean sheet and looked great defensively.”
Hurst found the winner from a Willis cutback in 55 minutes.
Alloa boss Jim Goodwin said: “It was scrappy. The f irst goal was always going to be vital.”
