Maddy book will reveal threats

A computer expert ert quizzed by Madeleine ne McCann cops will claim im in a new book that he was forced to give false lse statements.

Sergey Malinka is trying ing to raise money via crowdwdfun­ding website Kickstarte­r rter to publish his memoirs.

The 32- year- old says ays the book will reveal “the di f f icul t ies , t h reatt s , blackmail, defamation and general aggravatio­n” he claims he has suffered.

He added: “I was forced ced into false statements and accusation­s concerning ing [Madeleine’s] disappeara­rance and lost everything g – job, friends and hope.”

Russian-born Malinka –who moved to Praia da Luz as a child d – was f irst quizzed by Por tuguese detectives ves shortly after Madeleine ine went missing duringg a family holiday in the village age in May 2007.

His home was searched hed and off icers believed he looked like a suspect seen een nea r the apa r tment nt Madeleine was staying ng in at the time of her disappeara­nce.

The following year, his Audi A4 was set on fire and “tala” – Portuguese for “talk” alk” – was sprayed in red paint int on the pavement beside it.

He was questioned by Portuguese police againn in 2014, with British officers ers sitting in, before being told old he was no longer under der suspicion.

Malinka is writing the book with the help of British ish author David S Jones, who created children’s classic sic Fireman Sam.
