STERN WARNING

-

Dr Mary Antoun – a neurology expert at Nottingham University Hospitals – says she has been left out of pocket by Stern Options. The online trading firm have links to addresses in Glasgow and Edinburgh but the Financial Conduct Authority say they are actually based in Bulgaria. The Sunday Mail revealed last week how pensioner Diana Bundy felt “conned” into losing £150,000 of her savings with binary trading company Stern Options. Dr Antoun was persuaded to invest with the firm after receiving an email from them in April.

She handed over £35,250 and statements have informed her she has made a profit of £10,200.

However, repeated attempts by Dr Antoun to withdraw her cash have failed. She fears the profits are bogus and that the trades were never placed.

Police are probing the firm amid claims of criminality and Money Saving Expert creator Lewis has hit out at Facebook for allowing his image to be used in connection with the business.

Dr Antoun, 58, said: “I’ve been trying to get the £ 35,250 I invested back. They can keep the £10,200 profit they say has been made on my investments. All I want is my money back.”

Dr Antoun claims her internet bank Smile – part of Cooperative Bank – have failed to help her retrieve her money through their chargeback scheme, which entitles banking customers to their money back if they have not received a service they paid for.

The Cooperative Bank said they have passed the case on to their fraud department.

Stern Options didn’t comment.
