ABERDEEN V RANGERS

Ross McCrorie says it felt like a disaster when he sold the jerseys at Ibrox with a blunder against Hamilton.

But he’s revealed that a pep talk from Euro 2016 winner Bruno Alves restored his belief that he was good enough to fill a Rangers shirt.

McCrorie’s woeful ly short pass-back allowed David Templeton to score and set Accies on their way to a shock 2- 0 victory.

It was the lowest he has felt in his career but the 19- year- old has thanked Portuguese star Alves for lifting his spirits.

On the Monday after the Hamilton defeat , the veteran defender confessed to McCrorie that he’d made similar mistakes – and bounced back.

Now the Ibrox kid can say the same after a brilliant performance in Gers’ 3- 0 midweek win over Aberdeen.

McCrorie was exceptional as a holding midfielder and his feelings after the Dons game were in stark contrast to the Accies setback.

He said: “The Hamilton game was pretty disastrous for me. I didn’t enjoy it at all but it happens and there are going to be mistakes.

“When we came back to training Bruno spoke to me. He said it was all about my reaction now and told me to be confident again.

“Bruno said he’d done something similar. It meant a lot coming from a guy like him who has won a Euros medal.

“It made me feel better and realise that mistakes are natural. It will make me a better player.

“Bruno wanted me to be confident in my next game – and that’s what I did.

“I’m so thankful he spoke to me. He has been great and has a wealth of experience. Bruno and Danny Wilson help me during games. “Danny was in the same position as me at Rangers, a yout h player coming intinto the first team. te am. “And
