Craig hails Glens’ response after his half-time rollicking

-

Craig McEwan read his champions the riot act at the end of one half before saluting their character at the end of the other.

The Glenaf ton boss tore into his Super Premier side in his half-time team talk after Paul Gallacher had knocked Pollok in front in 17 minutes. And McEwan got the reaction he was after as Mick McCann and a Chris Dallas double sealed back-to-back wins for the first time since November.

He said: “The first half we looked lacklustre, really sluggish and I read the riot act at half-time – I had to. I called players’ characters into question and got the response I wanted.

“And that’s what I said to them after the game – I’m not one for falling out with people and saying things like I said at half-time.

“But if I need to do that week in, week out to get that performance we got in the second half I’ll do it.

“To a man they were magnificent in the second half. We were different class, had so much energy and wanted to play the game the right way.

“We were on the offensive and I don’t think Pollok had many answers for us in the second half with what we brought to the table.

“I’m proud as punch of my players and with games being off it’s a massive three points as well.

“I said to the players hopefully the result will be a catalyst.”
