BBC are back on the air

Real Madrid’s big guns blew Alaves away as Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo netted in a 4- 0 stroll.

The ‘ BBC’ strikeforce have rarely played together this season due to injuries and dips in form.

But they were at their devastating best as Real continued their recent revival to move within four points of second-placed Atletico Madrid.

Ronaldo returned after being rested for Wednesday’s game with Leganes and put Real ahead from a clever Benzema backheel.

Benzema also set up the second, winning the ball back and tearing towards goal before slipping it into Bale’s path to slot home.

Ronaldo struck Real’s third in 61 minutes, meeting a cutback from Lucas Vazquez first time and sending it past keeper Fernando Pacheco.

It was his 299th goal in La Liga but the Portuguese star surprisingly passed up the chance to make it 300 and bag his treble when Real won a penalty. Instead it was Benzema who stepped up after Bale had been brought down and the Frenchman made no mistake from the spot.

Bayern Munich ’ s 15- game winning run came to end as they were held 0- 0 by Hertha Berlin at the Allianz Arena.

The champions couldn’t find a way past a resolute Hertha rearguard as Bayern failed to win for the first time since November.

Jupp Heynckes’ men put five past Besiktas in midweek but found Hertha’s Norwegian keeper Rune Jarstein in top form.

Bayern still lead by 20 points but Dortmund can cut that gap with a win over Augsburg tomorrow.

Third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt couldn’t make up any ground as they lost 1- 0 at Stuttgart.

Monchengladbach got their bid for Europe back on track as a 1- 0 win at Hannover ended a run four straight defeats without scoring a goal.
