Lenny lets rip at ‘Mickey Mouse’ refs ruining game

-

stands, will see him dragged through the disciplinary process at Hampden.

And his after- match attack only added more fuel to the fire. The Easter Road boss let fly as he:

Branded Scottish refs Mickey Mouse amateurs.

Claimed Clancy sent him off as par t of a personal vendetta.

Ridiculed the ref for guessing at penalty call.

Demanded he never get another Hibs game.

Called for bad refs to be sent off during games.

Lennon was calm and measured as he delivered his withering assessment.

He said: “He’s made it personal as I criticised him after the game against Rangers in December.

“My reaction was one of anger because I didn’t deserve to be sent off.

“The penalty has cost us two points today.

“Huge decisions have gone against us this season. The goal we scored at Tynecastle, the clear hand ball against Rangers.

“I’m at my wits’ end with referees at the minute.

“I’ ll probably have to speak to the SFA now but I’ll give them my opinion. I’ve kept low key on it this season but some decisions have been horrendous.

“I’m not happy with Clancy but there’s no point speaking to him.

“You ring John Fleming and get the same … ‘ yeah, yeah ’. You go round in circles and I’ve lost faith in it. It’s amateur. Mickey Mouse stuff. The standard has to get better. They are not good enough.

“Every week we are talking about blatantly obvious decisions which are being called wrong.

“Every week you watch Sportscene and see clear penalties not given, like the two at Motherwell last week. How they can’t see it, I don’t know.

“The standa rd is declining as the game in Scotland is improving.”

All hell broke loose when Clancy awarded Killie the spot-kick at 2-1 down for a harsh handball call on teenager Ryan Porteous.

Kris Boyd netted the rebound from a saved spotkick and Clancy was called over to speak to Lennon by the fourth official.

Asked what Clancy said to him, Lennon shrugged: “He just came over and said I was going to the stand. “That’s when I lost it. “It’s impossible for him to say it is ball to hand. And the ball is going 10 yards wide so he has guessed.

“This is the same referee who didn’t give us a clear hand ball against Rangers at Easter Road.

“I thought he was coming over to warn me to calm down, which I could take.

“But he sent me off and I can’t do my job. Why can’t we send referees off when they are so blatantly ruining the game? “I don’t want him refereeing us again this

season.”
