Boiling mad over loan

-

I took out a loan on behalf of my son to pay for a new kitchen for himself and his partner. There are two issues – the kitchen is faulty and the firm won’t fix it, and he has stopped covering the payments. What can I do? If the loan is in your name, you are liable and will be penalised for not making payments. So you have to keep up the monthly instalments. Regarding the issues with the kitchen, the loan doesn’t offer any protection, so your son would have to take this up with the firm direct or via Trading Standards. lyhas private bought engine AcarI with the issues itup. major picked afterI weeks sed that a just three adverti fitted The seller hadbeen engine canIdo? itioned was. What a recond thinkit e with bewar butIdon’t buyer has ase of ifthe seller It’s a c bargai n. Hugh, a teacher, was in school in Glasgow when the offence took place and his car was in the playground.

He’d never been to Manchester before but council bureaucrats refused to listen, doubled the charge and threatened to pursue him further if he didn’t pay.

Hugh, 53, said: “I am very angry. I’ve been trying to sort this out for months and it’s eating away at me. You are my last hope.”

The initial £ 30 f ine dated December 8 popped through Hugh’s letterbox in January.

He said: “It hit me with a thud. I checked the date and knew right away it wasn’t me. It was a Friday and I was in school with a class of 30 15-year- old kids.”

Hugh, who teaches English and history, looked at the photo evidence and discovered the offending car was a dark green saloon – but he drives a silver 4x4.

He said: “The number plate recognition camera had picked up a wrong registration. The second digit of my plate is a B but the car in the bus lane has a D.

“There’s a screw in the middle of the letter D on the offending plate making it look like a B.”
