Dashcam plea over daylight slashing

-

Drivers with dashcam footage could hold the key to a savage daylight gang attack on a man.

Scott Campbell was targeted in Millroad Drive in the east end of Glasgow on Friday afternoon by at least three men.

The 30-year-old suffered head and facial injuries, including slash wounds, and his attackers escaped in a white Ford Transit van.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the van in the area at about 4.40pm.

But they said the victim was not run over, as previously reported.

A police spokesman added: “We are appealing for anyone who may have dash-cam footage that could assist in our inquiries.”

Campbell is said to be the partner of Irene Fox, a member of a notorious crime clan in the city’s Calton area.

In December 2016, Peter Fox, 42, was jailed for eight years at the High Court in Glasgow for selling heroin and cocaine.

Earlier that year, the Fox family failed in a bid to be allowed back to their home on Millroad Drive after police claimed it was a drugs den.

Friday’s attack is believed to be linked to a feud between the Foxes and another crime family from the area.

Campbell was seriously injured after a mass brawl broke out in the street between two groups.
