The Archdiocese of Glasgow have been paying for Teresa to attend counselling sessionsessions after she made allegations against NugenNugent three years ago.
TereTeresa, from Glasgow, said he manoeuvred his wway into her life after she went to stay with her gran when she was 11 years old. She claims Nugent, who died aged 66 from a heart attack in 2010, subjected her to two yearyears of sexual abuse before rapraping her shortly after her 13t13th birthday. NNugent was removed frofrom his position as a parparish priest following the murmurder of Angelika Kluk, whowhose body was found undunder the f loorboards of his church,c St Patrick’s in AndAnderston, Glasgow, in 2006. PolPolish national Angelika, 23, wwas murdered by serial killer Peter Tobin, who had been uunwittingly hired as a handyhandyman at St Patrick’s. NugNugent claimed to have had a consensual sexual relationrelationship with Angelika. An AArchdiocese of Glasgow spokesman said: “MMany distressing stories emerged during and immediately following the Angelika Kluk murder trial which were previously unknown to the Church and which led to Fr Nugent’s swift removal from parish ministry. “It may be that no one will ever know the full truth of all his activities but the Church remains ready and wi l l ing to co- operate with the police and authorities to assist survivors. “The Church offer counselling and, when a claim for damages is made, will always cooperate with any legal process but cannot influence its progress, speed or outcome.”
