Six in a row for Bayern

-

Bayern Munich romped to a sixth German title on the spin as they crushed Augsburg 4-1 on the road to seal the crown.

The runaway leaders had to come from behind after Niklas Sule’s early own goal in the Bavarian derby.

But their class told in the end as goals from Corentin Tolisso, James Rodriguez, Arjen Robben and Sandro Wagner crushed Augsburg.

It’s Bayern’s 28th title but they were five points behind Dortmund in October when they lured Jupp Heynckes out of retirement af ter sacking Carlo Ancelotti.

The veteran has worked his mag ic again and remains on course to repeat the Treble triumph he masterminded in 2013 during his last stint as boss.

But Heynckes, who has now led Bayern to four Bundesliga triumphs, played down his role and praised the man he replaced at the helm.

He said: “I’d like to send my best wishes to Carlo in Italy. This title is also for him. He is a fantastic coach.

“This title is everyone’s doing. First and foremost, it’s the players who have made it happen.

“It’s special to become German champions.”

Juventus also edged closer to a seventh successive Italian title with a 4-2 win at Benevento.

Paulo Dybala bounced back from his Champions League red card against Real Madrid to hit a hat- trick as Juve moved seven points clear at the top.

Douglas Costa also netted as the Turin giants piled pressure on Napoli who play their game in hand against Chievo today.

Hat- trick hero Dybala said: “We know Napoli will battle to the end so we cannot af ford to lose a single point.

“It was a tough game and Benevento put a lot of balls into the box.”
