Laszlo lashes out at stars and says save our season

-

Dumbarton ....................3 Dundee Utd ................... 2

Csaba Laszlo slammed his side’s shocking defending as Dundee United slumped to their 10th defeat of the season.

And he is demanding a massive reaction starting on Tuesday when St Mirren head to Tannadice seeking a title party.

Laszlo said: “What we saw from my team in terms of defending was poor. We gave away cheap goals and we have to stop losing goals like that.

“We have five games to get things right before we go to the play-offs. I want a reaction and to achieve our target.”

The Sons took the lead at the Rock in 11 minutes when Callum Gallagher bundled the ball in from a low cross by Tom Walsh.

United were level in 51 minutes when Billy King worked an angle on the left and hit a great cross to the back post where Tony Ralston powered a header into the net. However, they fell behind again in 59 minutes when David Wilson whipped over a corner from the left and Craig Barr headed the ball home from six yards.

But United came back again and equalised in 70 minutes. This time Ralston was the provider, cutting the ball back for Scott McDonald to shoot home.

Dumbarton sensationally grabbed the win when Barr scored a carbon copy of his first in 79 minutes. Wilson crossed from the left and the centre-back headed in.

Sons boss Stevie Aitken said: “We’ve got five games left to try to catch Falkirk and we will do everything we can

to do that.”
