No more talk over red card

-

Stuart Kettlewell is adamant Ross County will not be sidetracked in the relegation fight by the controversy involving Andrew Davies.

The row over the County captain’s challenge on Celtic’s Scott Brown rumbled on this week but Kettlewell declared the matter closed.

County’s joint caretaker boss said: “The matter is done. We have taken our medicine – we accepted the ban that Andrew got.

“He took his punishment as we did as a football club. It has rumbled on all week and everybody has had their say.

“We’ve got nothing else to say. We are all big boys. We’ll take all that is coming.

“Our focus as a group is not on a sending off at Parkhead, the focus for Ross County is to get ourselves out of the position we are in and stay in this league.

“We will let other people do the talking and just move on and focus on the next five games.”

County came close to grasping back-to-back home victories thanks to Billy Mckay’s opener only to see Oli Shaw level in stoppage time.

Kettlewell said: “We are under no illusions how big a victory it would have been for us. There is huge disappointment after what the players put into the game.

“But our job is to pick them up and make it clear to them this could be a huge point for us going forward. Hibs are a good side but I saw a resolute side in Ross County today.”
