Motor dealer failed to pay off finance on Stephen’s trade-in

Sunday Mail (UK) - - The Judge -

I paid a deposit of £5000. The new finance on the Audi was £381 a month and John promised that they would pay the existing loan on the Merc.”

But they did not settle the finance. He said: “The direct debit has been collected from my account since April last year.

“I’ve paid a further £ 4279 to the finance company for a car I haven’t had for a year and which Jasu have sold on.”

Stephen, a train driver, of Wishaw, Lanarkshire, added: “John McNamee told me it was nothing to do with him and he’d have to speak to his boss and get back to me. He said they were Ideal Motor Group now and nothing to do with Jasu. Turns out he is a boss – of both firms.”

I soon discovered Jasu Ltd were about to be struck off at Companies House after failing to file accounts.

Ideal Motor Group, who were set up in November 2016 as Jasu Vehicle Leasing Ltd, claimed Stephen’s grievance was with the previous occupiers of their premises.

Except that McNamee is a director of both Ideal Motor Group and Jasu Ltd.

The spokesman added: “We have spoken to the directors of Jasu Ltd and believe this has been an overlook on their part.

“They are in contact with the finance company to arrange a solution.”
