Wick-ed win over off Form

Wick boss Tom McKenna was ecstatic after ending Formartine’s perfect start to the season.

Goals f rom Gordon Macnab and Jack Henry saw Academy spring a surprise.

McKenna said: “Formartine were unbeaten and have had some great results but we gave a good account of ourselves.”

The hosts grabbed the opener after 20 minutes when Andrew Greig netted.

But Wick started the second half well and soon drew level through Macnab.

Henry grabbed the winner on 69 minutes after bursting through the home defence.

Formartine manager Paul Lawson said: “We need to be bigger and better at breaking teams down.”

Cove Rangers maintained their 100 per cent record with a 4- 0 victory at Huntly.

Paul McManus hit a double for the champions.

Fraserburg­h moved to the top of the table on goal difference after a 7- 0 win at Lossiemout­h with Sean Butcher getting his first goal for the club.
