Ramsay kid on how Gord is so messy at Christmas
Gordon Ramsay is known for swearing at chefs about mess in the kitchen but his family say he’s the one who turns their home upside-down.
In a mother-and-daughter interview, Ramsay’s wife Tana and daughter Tilly, 16, said the Scot is a Kitchen Nightmare when he knocks up Christmas dinner.
Tilly also revealed her dad takes all the glory for cooking – even when she and the rest of the family have done all the hard work.
Tilly, who has a food show on CBBC, said: “We all help Dad. The night before Christmas, we help him with the veg prep and get everything ready so it’s quick and easy.”
Tana, 44, added: “On the actual day, he makes a huge amount of mess with lots of oil spraying everywhere and with a flourish puts it all together and takes all the credit.”
Tilly is the youngest of Gordon and Tana’s four children – with Megan, 20, and 18-year- old twins Jack and Holly away at university.
This week, Gordon, 51, admitted he felt “lost and heartbroken” when his older kids moved out – and wore his son’s underpants and socks around the house to help him cope with empty nest syndrome.
He also said he hoped teenager Tilly would stay at home until she was 25.
Tilly has just finished filming season five of TV show Matilda and The Ramsay Bunch, which is due out on CBBC in the spring. Cameras follow the Ramsays in their LA home, with Tilly making recipes such as messy mud pies, freakshakes and scary pepper goblin heads.
She said: “I really enjoy what I do because I know it inspires people, and cooking’s a skill you definitely need.”
