Fulham boss is heading for fall

Slavisa Jokanovic insists he’s not thinking about his future after seeing Bournemouth thrash his Fulham side.

The Cot t a ge rs we r e condemned to their fourth straight defeat, leaving them in the relegation zone with just five points from 10 games.

The Fulham boss is on the brink but he said: “I am not thinking about my future. I will be ready for the next challenge.

“I am living my present and that is today a hard defeat. I

Having conceded four in defeat to fellow strugglers Cardiff last time out, Jokanovic went back to basics with a 4- 4-1-1 formation.

But from the outset the Cherries stifled any attempt at game management from his struggling side.

Just as Cardiff’s purposeful start rattled the Cottagers last week, so too did Bournemouth’s this time out.

When Callum Wilson was felled in the box, there were no appeals against the penalty decision. And when he netted from the spot a sense of inevitability crept in.

That mood was briefly lifted by the return of captain and Scotland international Tom Cairney on the hour after two months out injured. But when David Brooks added a second for Fulham the point of no return was reached.

Scotland midfielder Kevin McDonald was then sent off for a second bookable offence and Wilson scored his second to wrap the victory up.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe said: “We knew it would be tough against a good side – they have good players who can hurt you.

“We were defensively very good. I t wa s a bet t er performance than the Watford one where we also played well.”
