-

Singer Engelber t Humperdinck has claimed that he is curing his wife’s dementia.

The veteran crooner believes he has a rare power to heal his beloved Patricia, who was diagnosed with the brain disease 10 years ago.

The 82-year- old Release Me star is convinced that with his help, his 79-year-old wife is improving.

He said: “She’s doing OK considering she’s had it for the past 10 years.

“She still knows me and knows everybody.

“Our son came over Scott came over from Australia a couple of days ago and she called him by his name.

“That ’ s unhea rd of because after 10 years of Alzheimer’s, nobody can say people’s names like that.

“We’re doing everything to help her. It’s important to investigate every avenue.”

He uses acupuncturists, holistic healers and doctors and insists he is determined to cure her.

“She’ll be back, I know she will,” he added.

The couple have been together for more than 60 years and Patricia receives round-the-clock care at the family home in California.

They met in 1956 in Leicester, where Engelbert, then plain Arnold Dorsey, grew up having moved to the UK from India, aged 11.
