And here we were thinking the most bewildering news of the week was the Republican Senate gains in the US mid-terms. But it’s true: Hotel chain Hilton Garden Inn are about to launch an ironing club at their Heathrow Airport site, with a view to rolling out the idea nationwide.
The move comes after research showed 72 per cent of Brits find ironing a useful de-stressing technique, better than yoga or meditation. The repetitive action is soothing. So Hilton Garden Inn guests will be guided through classes on ironing their own garments. How selfish. If you can’t think of anything better to do in a hotel, be good enough to take in other people’s laundry.
