Lab tests found the tablets, which cost as much as £11, were to be “up to 99 per cent deficient” in the active ingredients they were supposed to contain.
The man behind the scam, Rakesh Odedra, 38, of Ilford, Essex, has been given a suspended jail sentence and a heavy fine after admitting fraud.
