Canning’s sorry message to fans

-

Martin Canning last night apologised to Hamilton fans after their 4- 0 thumping off St Johnstone. And the Accies gaf fer insists the supporters were right to have a go at him and his players. Saints racked up their f ifth win on the spin at McDiarmid Park with goals from Murray Davidson, Matty Kennedy, David Wotherspoon and a Ziggy Gordon OG. But Canning’s side didn’t help themselves with an inept display which had the boss fuming at fulltime. He said: “I want to say sorry to the supporters. They’re well within their rights to have a go.

“If I was a punter I’d be saying the same watching that. I wouldn’t be happy.

“I can take that because it’s justified. I put them on the pitch and if they don’t perform I get the abuse.

“We’ve turned up and rolled over.

“How can you be so on point to beat Livingston then today we lack focus and concentration? Everything was the same tactically.

“In this league, the team who competes the hardest will usually win the game. “We lost because we were terrible.”
