Kyle Falconer last night capped an amazing year when he won the gong for Best Album at the Scottish Music Awards. The View frontman was thrilled to pick up the accolade for his debut solo project No Thank You. Scooping the award underlined d an amazing turnaround for the Dundeeborn rocker who last year was convicted of an air rage outburst and ended up in rehab for addiction problems in 2016. The 31-year-old raised the roof at Glasgow’s SEC with a stunning performanc­e to celebrate his success.

Kyle – who recently revealed he and fiancee Laura Wilde are expecting their second child – said: “I put my heart and soul into that record and for it to be appreciate­d by any human is acceptance enough for me but to receive such a significan­t award as this has h been the cherry on the th cake of a truly brilliant year.” y The Scottish Music Awards Aw celebrated its 20th 20 birthday with a starpacked pa ceremony. Hosted by Sanjeev Kohli, Ko the event in aid of Nordoff Robbins Music Mu Therapy also had performanc­es from topt acts including Snow Patrol, Susan Boyle, Amy Macdonald and Tom Grennan. Annie Lennox and Susan Boyle were inducted into the Scottish Music Hall of Fame. Mark Knopfler delighted fans by collecting his Living Legend award and The Script appeared on video to acknowledg­e their Best Internatio­nal Artists award.
