An Egyptian actress faces prison over public obscenity charges after she appeared at the closing ceremony of a f ilm festival wearing a see-through dress.

The outfit 45- year- old Rania Youssef chose for the event in Cairo revealed her legs.

She faces up to five years in prison if convicted at a trial, which is scheduled to begin on January 12.
