Rita’s in for shock as Kabin is sold off
Corrie legend Rita Tanner is set to lose her beloved Kabin corner shop – after close friend Norris Cole sells it behind her back.
But to make matters even worse for Rita, played by Barbara Knox, 85, he sells it to local pair Brian Packham and Cathy Matthews.
Last month it was confirmed that popular actor Malcolm Hebdon,78, would be returning to the role of nosy Norris next year after suffering a heart attack and this is thought to be the start of his big comeback.
A Corrie insider said: “Rita is the Kabin. She’s been stood behind that counter serving the residents of Weatherfield for decades.
“So for him to sell it behind her back, and to Brian and Cathy of all people, leaves her absolutely fuming.”
