The Vi­tal Spark on of­fer for £95,000

The world’s last pri­vately owned work­ing puffer ship has been put up for sale for £95,000.

The Vi­tal Spark – named af­ter the clas­sic TV se­ries – is be­ing sold by busi­ness­man Archie McArthur.

He bought the former cargo ship 11 years ago and spent thou­sands restor­ing it.

Archie, 64, re­named it af­ter the fic­tional steam­pow­ered Clyde puffer which fea­tured in a BBC Scot­land show broad­cast in the 1960s and 70s.

The ves­sel is of­ten hired out to TV com­pa­nies.

The V i t a l S p a r k , pre­vi­ously called Eilean Eis­deal, is used for tourist trips on Loch Fyne, where it is berthed on its own pier.
