The Vital Spark on offer for £95,000
The world’s last privately owned working puffer ship has been put up for sale for £95,000.
The Vital Spark – named after the classic TV series – is being sold by businessman Archie McArthur.
He bought the former cargo ship 11 years ago and spent thousands restoring it.
Archie, 64, renamed it after the fictional steampowered Clyde puffer which featured in a BBC Scotland show broadcast in the 1960s and 70s.
The vessel is often hired out to TV companies.
The V i t a l S p a r k , previously called Eilean Eisdeal, is used for tourist trips on Loch Fyne, where it is berthed on its own pier.
