A garage ow ner has been convicted of selling dangerous part-worn tyres.

William Neill, 37, pled guilty to nine charges at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court following a raid by Trading Standards, the police and road safety charity TyreSafe.

Neill – who trades as Springside Tyre and Valet Centre in Irvine, Ayrshire – was handed a 120-hour community payback order on Friday for breaches in product s a f e t y a nd c onsumer protection regulations.
