I rev up to sort out refund from catalogue firm
James Oliver was on the road to nowhere when a catalogue firm signed him up to a motoring club.
He’d only agreed to look at paperwork for the discount scheme during a marketing call from Easylife. Instead, they took £59.99 from his bank account.
James, of Methil, Fife, said: “I didn’t agree to join. The club was supposed to offer money off servicing, MOTs and tyres.
“I asked for a refund and demanded to hear the recording of the phone call.
“But that was in July and I am no further forward. I’m fed up phoning and emailing. Please help and warn others not to fall into the same trap.”
I got on to the London firm and they quickly refunded the £59.99.
James said: “Thank you. They have finally agreed that I did in fact decline their offer and the money is back in my account.”
