Ross back on course

-

Ross Murdoch made it three national records in two days with Scottish Short Course Championship gold in last night’s 100metres breaststroke.

The 24-year- old clocked 57.29 seconds to add to his 50m record and sit on the cusp of a breaststroke treble with the 200m up today.

He said: “The times I’m starting to post are a lot better and I’m getting back up there with being able to make finals of major international championships at short-course level, which isn’t something I’ve ever been able to do.

“In 2016 I went to the world short course and didn’t make a single final. It would be really good to go to another meet like that now and actually challenge for spaces.”

Duncan Scott claimed his fourth and fifth titles of the Edinburgh meet, winning the 200m butterfly then the 4x50m free relay.
