Good health after Shaw winner

-

bench held their breath but Woods got back to his feet – for a while.

He needed strong hands to bat out a long-range rocket from Stephen Mallan and then stopped the Hibs livewire from chipping a free-kick inside his near post.

Ofir Marciano was called on at the other end as well after he kept out Rakish Bingham’s rasper.

Hibs were the ones with most of the ball but Accies posed the odd threat from diagonals over the top.

James Keatings was served up an opportunity on a plate just before the break by Mickel Miller but he nudged the ball wide of the target.

The clash between Woods and Boyle halted play for nearly 10 minutes as Lennon ran on to the pitch to help his stricken attacker.

The Hibs man left on a stretcher while Woods failed to appear for the second half. And Marsden didn’t have much time to get settled.

Within minutes he had to hurl himself at Kamberi’s wicked drive.

The Easter Road men finally got past Marsden midway through the half. Shaw’s finish was neat but the ball from sub Daryl Horgan was even better as he shredded the Accies backline with a pinpoint cross.

You could see the confidence coursing back through Lennon’s side and they would have been out of sight if it wasn’t for more Marsden heroics.

Accies boss Canning said: “You get days like this. We lost two goalkeepers then Tom Taiwo as well.

“We missed a few good chances in the first half but we are not being clinical at both ends of the pitch.

“Jacob did well. It shows how quickly things can change.” Managed to keep a grip on a niggly game and would’ve been happy to avoid more controversy after last week.
