Fears over EDL’s demo

Police fear violence could break out at a “Brexit betrayal” demonstration being led by far-right campaigner Tommy Robinson.

The English Defence League founder, who led prominent Ukip figures to desert the party after he was made an adviser, is to attend the rally in London today.

Anti-fascist groups are expected to oppose the event prompting police to put restrictions in place.

Violence broke out at a Robinson rally in London in June with five officers injured when bottles and barriers were hurled at them.
