Icing on the royal cake

A replica of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s gigantic wedding cake has been re - created for a TV documentary.

The original cake from 1840 weighted 300lb, contained almost 12 pints of brandy and needed a stretcher to carry it.

Smiths the Bakers, of Norfolk, made the replica for a BBC programme about the royal couple.
