PLOTS AGAINST MAY

-

Theresa May survived a confidence vote last week, but now her Cabinet ministers are lining up to stab her in the back. Now they know the PM will quit before 2022, six of them are building campaign teams for leadership bids. Jeremy Corbyn is mulling over whether to call his own confidence vote in Parliament to topple the PM.

What he needs to succeed is DUP support and, failing that, some Tory rebels from Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg’s European Research Group.

He could push for a no confidence vote under the Fixed Term Parliaments Act to force a general election. Or he could try a censure motion to force her out.
