He said: “We are not scoring enough goals. January’s coming and some of the players need to have a good look at themselves.
“The penalty sums up Kamberi at the minute, he’s sloppy. I don’t know if it’s a lack of confidence but he has not been taking penalties like that.
“His all-round game at the minute is just not there.
“He’s had plenty of opportunities to turn things around but even today I asked him to put 90 minutes of work into 45 and we’d win the game.
“We put the ball into the box but there is no workrate. He’s just not working hard enough and the point isn’t hitting home.
“I can always change it the way I did last season when I got rid of Stokes and Murray and brought in other players.
“This is a criticism but we’ve been sitting on this for weeks and weeks but we’re getting no response from him. We maybe need to look at other avenues to get goals but he has goals in him.”
Lennon is adamant he has been trying to get the penny to drop with his striker for months.
He said: “It’s up to him. We’ve been talking to him in private for a long time and it has been hit and miss, more miss than hit.
“I’m not just talking about goals, it’s his all round work- rate which isn’t there. You aren’t always going to get the perfect ball, you need to work for it.
“If you aren’t scoring goals you need to bring something else to the team. If you aren’t doing that then we are a man down.”
