Bros star blasts back after BBC show mocked

Sunday Mail (UK) - - News -

Bros star Luke Goss has hit back at critics who ridiculed the band’s documentary, claiming, “I’m not stupid”.

The 90-minute Bros: After The Screaming Stops became one of the festive season’s most popular shows on iPlayer after it was aired on BBC Four last month.

But the siblings’ attempts at philosophy had viewers in stitches – and resulted in them being mocked online.

In one scene, Luke is filmed saying: “Rome wasn’t built in a day... but we don’t have the time Rome had.”

But Luke, 50, said: “There is a contingent who like a freak show, they will always take the p***.

“But if that is their contribution to the universe then I pity them. I’m kindof sick of being ridiculed. I focus on the good people out there.

“Of course there are funny moments. We spoke passionately and spontaneously.

“We’re working-class London boys. Our books weren’t books, they were record sleeves. I know what I said about Rome was funny. I’m not stupid.”

A camera crew followed the pair as they prepared for a sell- out reunion gig at London’s O2 Arena almost 30 years after they were last on stage together.

Matt, who is based in Las Vegas, said: “For us it was an elaborate therapy session dealing with 28 years of pain. Festering pain.”
