Taxi costs not half bad

Spending on taxis by the Scottish Government has been more than halved in the past four years.

Official documents reveal the huge expenditure was cut from £183,366 in 2014 to £75,304 last year.

The Scottish Government said: “Guidance was updated in 2015 to make it clear that when public transport is available, travelling by taxi should be a last resort.”
