Assaulted near pub

Police have launched an investigation after a man was attacked near a pub.

Officers were called to the scene close to Portland Arms bar in Shettleston, Glasgow, at about 9.30pm on Friday.

A 29-year- old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. He was later released.

Parts of Shettleston Street were cordoned off.

Police said off icers are checking CCTV footage to establish the circumstances of the attack.
