Mitch Megginson tucked away his 35th goal of the season to shatter Inverurie’s resistance late on – and keep Cove hurtling towards the title.

The striker pounced in 80 minutes to earn the home side a 1- 0 win over Locos.

Cove boss John Sheran felt justice was done. He said: “We showed everything in our attempts to break them down.”

Fraserburgh beat visiting Deveronvale 4-1. Ross Aitken netted for the Banff side but it was comfortable for the Broch with Scott Barbour scoring twice and Ryan Sargent and Bryan Hay also on target.

Brora were solid in a 2- 0 home triumph over Huntly with Ally Macdonald and Mark Nicolson scoring.

Formartine made it 13 wins and two draws since defeat to Forres in August as they got revenge on the Can- Cans.

A single goal settled it with Archie Macphee the Formartine match winner.

Wick won 3-1 at Clach with Michael Steven, Jack Halliday and Gordon MacNab finding the net.
